Bush told a Joint Session of Congress: “Its (Islam’s) teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah.” Is that true or not?
President Bush told Muslims at a Washington area mosque: “The face of terror is not the true face of Islam,” and he told a Joint Session of Congress: “Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah.” Is that true or not? If it is not true then Christians are obligated to reprove, rebuke and correct the error, even error coming from the President! After all, he is only the President of the United States, not a member of the Trinity!
At a White House press briefing, spokesman Ari Fleischer said, “This attack had nothing to do with Islam. This attack was a perversion of Islam…” Bush and Fleischer were not served well by their fact checkers and speechwriters.
Attorney General John Ashcroft, referring to a four-page document belonging to one of the terrorists said the “references were a stark reminder of how these hijackers grossly perverted the Islamic faith to justify their terroristic acts…” Ashcroft was wrong. The terrorists were simply carrying out many commands found in the Koran, the holy book of all Muslims.
U. S. Government leaders are fearful of giving the impression that there could be one genuine, authentic, reliable religion that is totally different from all other religions. That would be breaking the fist rule of multiculturalism, and they must never do that.
The message that the world is getting from our politicians, preachers, and pundits is that there are many religions and each one is as good as any other. All are equal. Of course, that is heresy and nonsense. All religions fall into one of two categories: the religion of Abel and the religion of Cain. Abel offered a God-required sacrifice while his brother brought the crops he had produced. Abel’s offering was accepted and Cain’s was rejected. On one side, you have salvation only through the meritorious work of Christ in dying for man’s sins becoming reality through repentance and faith.
On the other side, you have all the other religions of the world: religions of works. However, it is almost a hate crime to make such an assertion in America that was founded upon that fact! I would further remind you that almost no one has mentioned Jesus Christ, but always some unknown god out there somewhere. I am afraid we are seeing government, at all levels, calling upon an unknown, ambiguous god to support their policies and placate the non-thinking public. Everyone is saying, “God bless America,” but we must ask, “Whose God?” The God of the Bible, I trust.
Christians must not give anyone a reason to mistreat others. We are obligated to truth, not error. In addition, Americans can discuss, debate, and disagree on any issue without fear. While there are many Muslims who are embarrassed and horrified at the terrorism that took place on September 11, we must not permit Muslims to distort facts, the facts about the Koran, to make them more comfortable with their religion and culture.
*All Muslim countries suppress civil rights that we take for granted: the right to vote, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, etc.
*Almost all acts of terror in recent years have been perpetrated by Muslims.
*Muslims are told “…take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends.”
*Mohammed required death for Muslims who converted to other religions: “Who relinquishes his faith, kill him.” Some Muslim countries have carried out that requirement.
*Suicide is forbidden, but to die while taking out unbelievers guarantees Paradise to any Muslim.
*All non-Muslims are hell-bound. “The only true faith in God’s sight is Islam.” (Sura 3:19)
*Muslims are to “Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]…until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.” (Sura (9:27)
In addition, “Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you…Deal firmly with them.” (Sura 9:121)
*Islam is a religion of works: “As for the faithful who do good works and believe what is revealed to Mohammed…He will forgive them their sins….” (Sura 47:1)
Is Islam a religion of peace? Their holy book, the Koran, teaches, “Slay them wherever you find them….Fight against them until idolatry is no more…” (Sura 2:190) Sura 2:216 tells all faithful Muslims, “Fighting is obligatory for you….” Muslims are promised rewards if they die for their cause: “If you should die or be slain in the cause of God, His forgiveness and His mercy would surely be better than all the riches…” (Sura 3:156).
In fact, Muslims are told to, “Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme.” (Sura 8:36) Peaceful religion? I think not.
In fact, Muslims are told to, “Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme.” (Sura 8:36) Peaceful religion? I think not. Gibbon, in his Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire supports my contention: “The use of fraud and perfidy, of cruelty and injustice, were often subservient to the propagation of the faith; and Mahomet commanded or approved the assassination of the Jews and idolaters who had escaped from the field of battle.”
Durant in his History of Civilization was a little kinder to Mohammed and Islam but quoted Mohammed’s successor as saying: “‘…compel the rest of mankind to become Moslems or pay us tribute. If they refuse these terms, slay them.’ The choice given the enemy was not Islam or the sword; it was Islam or tribute or the sword.”
Non-Muslims must not be confused and deceived by statements made by Muslim leaders that seem to contradict some of the above quotes. The Koran, while the most influential book written by one man, is not without error nor is it balanced. It is not a cohesive, systematic treatise on what Mohammed believed. It has contradictory statements that Muslims can use to soften their violent image. It was written on scrapes of paper, palm leaves, leather, bones, etc., that were collected by others after Mohammed’s death.
He was orphaned very young and reared by relatives. He had two concubines and ten wives although ordinary Muslims are limited to four. Mohammed was betrothed to Aisha, a six-old girl, but managed to constrain his ardor until she was nine so that makes him a child molester! Gibbon was right when he said that Mohammed “…indulged the appetites of a man, and abused the claims of a prophet.”
It seems that whenever Mohammed was caught in an embarrassing situation, the angel Gabriel paid him a visit to extricate him from his problem. Example: when he was caught in bed with Mary, an Egyptian captive, Gabriel gave him special revelations to change the rules. Rank hath its privileges, and in spades for this prophet!
